Did Lionel Messi really get kidnapped ahead of World Cup in Russia?
Cool new video on Lionel Messi debuts this month – check it out.
Soccer News: Popular videos reflect the world around us and this new video “Lionel Messi Kidnapped? (MESSI, MESSI, MESSI)” by the people at Rockerrazzi Filmz celebrates the star power of the soccer phenomenon known as the Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward for Spanish club Barcelona and the Argentine national team, or in other words, Lionel Messi.
The LA video production company headed by Jared Sagal has captured the crazy football/soccer skills of Cristiano Ronaldo and the GOAT Lionel Messi in a fun “fake” news video.
We asked Sagal for his thoughts on what inspired him to make this video and he told us he loves a challenge. “What inspires me to make videos like this is mostly to see if I can bring one of my crazy ideas that live in my head and somehow bring that into reality,” said Sagal. “I am also a musician and was challenging myself to see if I could record a full song through a video camera. All the audio tracks were recorded through my camera. We never set foot in an actual studio. The idea of not having to rely on a producer or any other musicians was so refreshing. I can’t wait to try this again.”
The big question, is Messi better than Ronaldo?
Sagal told us it was a fairly easy question to answer.
“Messi just does more. He is a complete player. He is constantly searching out the ball and getting touches,” said Sagal. “He can affect the overall flow of the game much more than Cristian and some of the things he pulls out of his hat are jaw-dropping.”
Messi is played by Lance Ward. Ronaldo is played by Diego Lopez.
Sagal admits to locking in on this project for two weeks and enjoying several midnight edit sessions. “My partner Georgi Hristov and my brother Marc Sagal did an amazing job to help bring this thing to life,” said Sagal. “It truly takes a solid team like in football to make it amazing.”
Soccer fans need not fear, Messi has not been kidnapped — perhaps his skills in the video only scratch the surface of the great man himself but this short film adds credence to the fact that he is so universally loved, that he would be, if necessary, rescued by anyone and everyone.
This thirty-year-old man who makes a reported 40 million Euros a year is still intertwined in a contest of greatness with Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese professional footballer who plays forward for Spanish club Real Madrid and the Portugal national team. The soccer fans at Rockerrazzi Filmz obviously prefer Messi over Ronaldo as in their spoof, Ronaldo is captured telling fans Messi is #1!
As the lyrics say, ” Nobody is better than MESSI, MESSI, MESSI! ”
Enjoy.
