By virtue of their No. 2 seed, the Bruins would be in line to host through the third round.
College Soccer News: The winner of the UCLA–SDSU match will advance to the second round to face either Northwestern (12-7-2) or Butler (13-2-5). In the other half of the quadrant are Pepperdine, Cal State Fullerton, Saint Francis (PA) and No. 3 seed Virginia.

UCLA and San Diego State will face each other for the second time this season as the Bruins earned a 5-1 over the Aztecs in the season-opener on Aug. 18 at Drake Stadium. UCLA holds a 13-1-1 advantage in the all-time series.
“We just have to do our job and look at the opponent ahead of us,” said UCLA head coach Amanda Cromwell.
“There are a lot of familiar opponents with San Diego State, Pepperdine and Virginia on our side of the bracket,” said Cromwell.
“It’s exciting because we get some rematches there.”
“Teams will be geared up for us, and we’ll be geared up for them,” says Cromwell. “In the end, I think we’ve improved a lot over the season, and I think we’re hitting our stride right now as far as peaking and playing some really good soccer.”
The Bruins are one of seven Pac-12 teams to earn a spot in the Tournament and one of three Pac-12 teams to earn a Top 4 seed, joining No. 1 Stanford and No. 3 USC.
This is UCLA’s 21st overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins have a 57-16-5 all-time NCAA record and have advanced to the Round of 16 or beyond in four of the last five seasons.
Tickets for Friday’s first round match are $10 for adults and $8 for youth/students (w/valid ID) and can be purchased in advance at the UCLA Central Ticket Office (310-UCLA-WIN).
