Sky Blue FC Partner with the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life
Sky Blue FC announces their latest partnership with the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life as the NWSL club joins the community in the fight to find a cure for cancer. Sky Blue will host their first Relay For Life night on August 27th, when they welcome the Chicago Red Stars to Yurcak Field.
NWSL Soccer News: Sky Blue FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) announced that it has created a community partnership with the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life.
“The American Cancer Society and Relay for Life are critical components in the battle against cancer, and we are proud to join them in the efforts to find a cure for this terrible disease,” said Tony Novo, Sky Blue FC President & General Manager. “We look forward to collaborating with their incredible organization and creating a longstanding relationship that will assist in the eventual defeat of cancer.”
Sky Blue FC, the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life will be working together in the promotion of an upcoming home game on Saturday, Aug. 27th, when Sky Blue FC welcomes the Chicago Red Stars to Yurcak Field on the campus of Rutgers University (Piscataway) at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for that match are available now, and a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life.
“Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event,” said Shawn Triggs, Community Manager for the Eastern Division of Relay For Life. “It is a community-based event where people come out to support and celebrate cancer survivors, remember those we lost and fight back as one solid community. Through these events, we are able to support and fund cancer research and keep our programs and services free of cost for those affected by a cancer diagnosis. We are so excited to partner with Sky Blue FC, as they have graciously joined us in our fight against cancer with a Relay For Life night. It is because of partnerships like this that we are able to reach even more individuals to spread our lifesaving mission across the state of New Jersey.”
