Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine Joins Med City FC Team
The 2017 NPSL season can’t come soon enough as teams across the league are finalizing its preparation on and off the pitch. Expansion club Med City FC is among those clubs gearing up for a successful campaign as its official title sponsor was announced this week.
NPSL Soccer News: Med City FC present Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine as its title sponsor for the club’s inaugural National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) season. The partnership will include marquee placement on the team’s home and away jerseys.
“We are excited to announce that Med City FC has joined forces with Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine,” says Frank Spaeth, general manager. “The clinical services, performance training, nutrition and sport psychology that the team will receive from experts at Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine is a huge asset to our growth as a group and the development of our individual players.”
Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine will also serve as the official title sponsor of Med City FC’s 2017 home matches.
Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine Center is a global leader in sports and musculoskeletal injury prevention and rehabilitation, concussion research, diagnostic and interventional ultrasound, sports performance optimization, and surgical and nonsurgical management of sports-related injuries.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Med City FC to support of our local community and the growth of soccer in Rochester,” says Michael Peda, operations manager for Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine. “This is a great opportunity for Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine to engage athletes from around the country and provide clinical and performance expertise.”
Med City FC also signed Midhat Mujic as its first official player on Wednesday. Mujic played collegiately at Saint Mary’s University in Winona, Minnesota. In 2016, Mujic was signed to the Minnesota United Reserves.
“Midhat brings extensive playing experience and maturity from his time with the Minnesota United Reserves. He will be one of the premier players in the NPSL and a leader of our team,” says Luke Corey, head coach of Med City FC.
The official Med City FC kit embracing the Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine logo will be revealed in early April with the 2017 season kicking off at home on May 13th.
