Rayo OKC Claims Final NASL Playoff Spot
The NASL postseason matchups are set as Rayo OKC clinched the final spot following a Minnesota United loss on Saturday. The New York Cosmos take on Rayo, while Indy Eleven face FC Edmonton with both games scheduled for Saturday.
NASL Soccer News: U.S. youth international Eric Calvillo scored his first professional goal as the New York Cosmos edged Minnesota United 1-0 on Saturday night to eliminate the Loons from postseason contention.
The Minnesota loss pushed Rayo to the North American Soccer League (NASL) postseason, The Championship, where they will face top-seeded New York. Rayo has stormed into the playoffs on a five-game winning streak and a ten-game unbeaten streak as they concluded the Fall Season with a 2-1 win over Indy Eleven on Sunday.
With the postseason field now scheduled, the focus shifts to the semifinal matchups that will take place on Saturday in Indianapolis and New York. The Cosmos, who claimed the Fall Season title, will host Rayo OKC on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET at Shuart Stadium. Indy Eleven, the league’s Spring Season Champion, will welcome No. 3 seed FC Edmonton earlier that afternoon at 3 p.m. ET at Carroll Stadium.
