Botafogo – The First Ever Brazilian Team to Participate
The Beach Soccer USA Cup announced the 9th International Team joining the PRO event, Botafogo Beach Soccer from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Beach Soccer News: Botafogo Beach Soccer from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil will make their first appearance at The Beach Soccer USA Cup and become the first ever Brazilian team to participate at the PRO event which is celebrating it’s 10 year anniversary in Oceanside, California.

Botafogo becomes the 11th announcement of The Beach Soccer USA Cup and the 9th International Team joining the PRO event. Brazil becomes the 13th nation to officially field a professional team joining: Senegal, Japan, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Tahiti, United Arab Emirates & the Netherlands.
Botafogo trains at the world renown Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Copacabana Beach is famous for producing many of the world’s top beach soccer players and helping launch the sport beyond the borders of Brazil. The team comes to Oceanside ready to showcase their style of play and they bring with them a formidable squad.
Botafogo will be lead by experienced players such as Vinicius Guedes, Bernardo Botelho, Gabriel Novaes and they will be supported by a cast of young talent starting with Paulo Victor, Bryan Yano, Igor Kuntz and many others. Botafogo will be guided by their head coach Luiz Escobar and their General Manager Carlos Dreux.
Botafogo is no stranger to success, in 2015 they won the Cariocas Summer Games, in 2014 they won the Copa Guaraviton, in 2013 they won the Copa Brasil Manaus & Taca Guanabara, in 2013 they also finished 4th in Mundialito de Clubes and finished 3rd in the Brazilian Beach Soccer Circuit.
