Indiana Union Women’s Team defeated The Detroit Sun in the United Women’s Soccer (UWS) Semifinal to advance to the fourth edition of the UWS Championship set to kick off this upcoming weekend.
The Indiana Union, the #2 ranked team in the UWS, defeated #3 ranked Detroit Sun in the UWS MIDWEST SEMIFINALS to secure their berth in the upcoming championship.

Indiana Union is a joint venture between Indy Premier and Indiana Fire formed by Kenrick Ramirez from Indy Premier and Joe Sochacki of indiana Fire and together they supervise the team.
Continuing their dominance over the Detroit Sun, the final score was 5-1, reflecting the team’s dedication and prowess on the field. This impressive victory over the perennial contenders in the first UWS Midwest Conference Semifinal thrilled fans who enthusiastically supported the team.
The girls showed an incredible amount of grit and desire on an extremely hot day to pull out the win in extra time.

In the 54th minute, Rice put the game away off an assist from Dolinsky and Dewey finished the scoring in the 87th minute. The pair of Sarah Kile and Jordan Imes made two saves in goal on the night for the victors.
“Being my first year as a part of the UWS, I have been pleased with the opportunity provided for the girls to play on such a high platform over the summer as they prepare to go back to school,” said Dolinsky who has been coaching for more than 13 years.
“However, the Indiana Union is more than just a place to play for the summer — and, our girls have really bought into the competitive nature the league provides. The entire Indiana Union staff and my Co-Coach Daniel Seiffert have been amazing to work with and I look forward to not only the Final Four but UWS seasons to come and the growth of this league,” said Dolinsky.
A former professional player, Dolinsky was a youth soccer prodigy who was recruited to train in Europe as a teen and signed his first professional contract with the Dutch professional football club Feyenoord Rotterdam when he was 15 years old.
“Our goal and direction is to provide platforms for female soccer players to continue to grow. It also provides an opportunity for our younger youth players to train and play with players at the collegiate level,” said Kenrick Ramirez, Girls Director of Coaching – Indy Premier Soccer Club.
Midfielder Monica Dolinksly also agrees on the high value of playing in the UWS and said, “This season has been very competitive with many of the teams returning very good players home from their respective colleges.”
“I didn’t really know what to expect going into the season, but from our first training until now, our team has developed a team-culture like no other.
Monica Dolinsky – Indiana Union Women’s Team
“Playing in Indiana, it’s not so much the heat, but the humidity that will kill you. We play for each other and get the job done,” said Monica Dolinsky
“We are so excited for the National Championship in Calgary,” said Monica Dolinsky. “Sometimes being from a smaller state like Indiana, we are overlooked. But when I see my team, I see pride, I see power, I see women who don’t take nothing from nobody. It will be a great atmosphere and continue to create more recognition for the women’s side of the game.
