US Club Soccer & LaLiga Course Curriculum at NSCAA Convention
With the NSCAA Convention kicking off in the coming weeks, US Club Soccer and LaLiga have released its schedule for the annual coaches gathering. LaLiga signed a partnership with US Club Soccer at the Players First launch event in August 2015 at Nike World Headquarters.
The expansive partnership provides US Club Soccer members with a curriculum to progress the daily youth soccer training environment for all players and coaches.
Youth Soccer News: US Club Soccer and Spain’s LaLiga unveiled its featured sessions for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention set to take place January 11-15, 2017, in Los Angeles.
Drawing 4,000-plus coaches and more than 10,000 attendees, the event is deemed the “World’s Largest Annual Gathering of Soccer Coaches”. It features live field demonstrations, lectures, networking socials, coaching diplomas as well as other workshops.
US Club Soccer will host two sessions by LaLiga officials, an autograph event with striker Raúl González Blanco and a booth highlighted by Players First – its holistic club soccer experience emphasizing the development of each player and helping parents make better decisions about where their children should play.
“US Club Soccer is proud of its role as one of the progressive leaders of youth soccer in America, so it’s appropriate that we celebrate our growing membership and our vision for the game at the annual NSCAA Convention,” said Kevin Payne, US Club Soccer CEO. “With a focus on our Players First philosophy – a holistic approach to providing a better youth soccer experience for players and parents – and showcasing our ambitious and growing relationship with LaLiga in coaching education, we are very excited to again share with our colleagues the mission of US Club Soccer to improve our game at every level.”
On behalf of US Club Soccer, LaLiga will host the following:
- Jan. 12 classroom session, 12:45-1:45 p.m. (CC 409AB) – “Player Formation and Tactical Periodization” with Raúl and clinicians Gari Fullaondo and Hugo Blanco.
- Jan. 12 autograph session with Raúl (US Club Soccer booth #949 in convention center), 6:30-7:30 p.m.
- Jan. 14 field session, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Kwik Goal Demo Field 2) – “Teaching Progression – Activities for Developing Decision Makers” with Fullaondo.
“Our North American soccer presence has grown significantly through our US Club Soccer alliance, specifically the LaLiga Formation Methodology courses we introduced this year,” said Blanco, LaLiga Country Manager in the U.S. “Educating and sharing our resources with the American soccer community is fundamental to advancing LaLiga’s global objectives of growing interest and participation in our league, its teams and players.”
US Club Soccer has hosted five LaLiga Coaching Methodology sessions in the United States this year and will continue these offerings through 2017. The final session of 2016 was held December 16-18 in the New York metro area.
