Santa Clarita Storm sit down with returners Nick Rowin and Brian Kruse ahead of the club’s opening summer season match versus Valley United on Sunday.
UPSL Soccer News: Santa Clarita Storm opens the UPSL summer season this Sunday at 5pm at The Master’s College versus Valley United. We have a core group of returning players bolstered by some new faces as well. This week we are highlighting two of our returners Nick Rowin and Brian Kruse.
Nick Rowin – Team Captain: A 4 year veteran will return for the summer season with the Storm.
Nick Rowin is a senior veteran at 27 years of age, and not only maintains the ability of play on the pitch but also brings a leadership ability that allows him to wear the captain’s armband for the last three seasons. Last season Nicke was out due to injuries and will be returning healthy and ready to play.
Here is an update from the Santa Clarita Storm come-back captain:
Santa Clarita Storm: “What do you think it will take this season for the storm to take home that championship?”
Nick Rowin: Commitment. Having a solid group of core players to commit themselves will help achieve a championship.
Santa Clarita Storm: “Do you have any personal goals this season?”
Nick Rowin: Personally, I want to stay healthy for an entire season. My last three seasons, I didn’t miss a game I was dressing for. This past season I was plagued with an Achilles injury, so coming back stronger for the entire season is my personal goal.
Santa Clarita Storm: “Who do you play with on FIFA?”
Nick Rowin: Manchester United
Santa Clarita Storm: “Favorite player and why?”
Nick Rowin: CR7 – Hard work and dedication always pay off.
Brian Kruse – Storm’s Iron man.
Brian Kruse is in his 3rd year with the Storm and has become a mainstay in the starting lineup. Kruse is a versatile player who can play a midfield role but has spent a lot of time in the defense for the Storm. He has become an excellent player in both positions and is one of the most reliable players for the Storm. Kruse has logged 31 appearances in the last two seasons with the Storm. That is the most of any other player on the Storm. Here’s what Brian had to say.
Santa Clarita Storm: “What do you think it will take this season for the storm to take home that championship?”
