USCSA Continues To Help Grow the Girls Game
The United States Consortium of State Associations (USCSA), whose mission is to integrate traditional business strategies and shared resources to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of 16 member US Youth Soccer State Associations, is thrilled to receive a $180,000 grant to Grow the Girls Game.
This significant funding will help fuel the organization’s ongoing efforts to increase participation, foster leadership, and create pathways for women to excel in the sport at every level.
The generous Innovate to Grow grant was awarded by the US Soccer Federation, the national governing body of soccer in all its forms in the United States. With this funding, the United States Consortium of State Associations will be able to expand its outreach programs, provide scholarships, enhance coaching and referee resources, and support grassroots initiatives that encourage young girls and women to embrace soccer. The grant also aims to increase visibility and professional opportunities for female athletes, empowering them to break through barriers and pursue careers both on and off the field.
“We are incredibly grateful to US Soccer for their belief in our vision and their commitment to leveling the playing field for women in sports,” said Jennifer Davis, Executive Director of STX Youth Soccer, a member of the United States Consortium of State Associations.
“This grant will enable us to make a lasting impact on the next generation of female soccer players, ensuring that girls and women have access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed,” said Davis.
Through skill-building clinics and technology, scholarships, competitive events, leadership programs, and mentorship, the United States Consortium of State Associations aims to inspire and equip female athletes, coaches, referees, and administrators to reach their full potential.
With the tagline “Join us in reshaping the way we work together,” the consortium represents approximately 900,000 soccer players and is a positive and guiding influence in growing the beautiful game across America.
This $180,000 grant received to help further the girls’ and women’s side of the sport is an essential milestone in the continued effort to close the gender gap in soccer and sports at large. With the increased focus on empowering women in all soccer areas, the USCSA remains committed to providing accessible, high-quality soccer opportunities for girls and women, regardless of their background or resources.
New Jersey Youth Soccer launched the NYJS Growing the Girls Game in 2021, with a focus on empowering females both on and off the field and at all stages of the soccer experience.
