Three Internationals SC Players Called Up to U.S. Soccer U18 Women’s National Team
Internationals SC are rapidly becoming well recognized for excellence in player development — here is the latest news on three of their players called up to U.S. Soccer U18 Women’s National Team
Youth Soccer News: Internationals SC standouts Jordan Brewster, Sydney Dawson, and Loren Sefcik have been called up by the U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team for a training camp in Fairfax, Va., from Aug. 6-14.
“It’s always an honor to receive another call back into camp to represent not only my country, but club, family, and community,” Brewster commented. “None of this would have been possible without the support I’ve received from those around me, especially from the Internationals family. Whether it be a game or practice, the coaching staff and teammates that surround me at ISC are the reason I’m getting these opportunities. You can’t possibly play with the best unless you train with the best at home.”
U.S. U-18 WNT head coach Jaime Frias has called up 28 players, 25 born in 2000 and three in 1999.
“I am very excited to have been invited to the upcoming U18 WNT Camp,” Dawson added. “I am looking forward to training with and competing against some of the top youth players in the country. I am very thankful to the Internationals Soccer Club, specifically the Internationals coaches, for preparing me for this opportunity.”
This will be the second domestic training camp of the year for this age group to go along with two international trips the squad has taken so far, to England in February and to Australia in early July.
“I feel very grateful for this opportunity to train with some of the top players in the country,” Sefcik concluded. “I am excited to continue to grow as a player both on and off the field. I appreciate the support I have been given over the years by my family and coaches. I wouldn’t be where I am without them.”
This group of players is in the middle of the first year of a two-year cycle as U-18s before transitioning to U-20s in 2019 and will form the core of the group that will eventually attempt to qualify for the 2020 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
