Celebrating Women’s Soccer in the USA: USL is Proud To Make Peacock Super League’s Landmark Streaming Home
Peacock secures exclusive rights to stream every USL Super League match, solidifying its role as the premier destination for top-tier women’s soccer in the U.S.
It has been a long road to … the amazing launch of the USL Super League. Spearheaded by its leader and first President Amanda Vandervort, the USL Super League prepares to take its place pushing the success, awareness and prestige of women’s soccer. Here is the recent news on bringing USL Super League to fans everywhere.
The USL Super League, a new Division One professional women’s soccer league launching in the U.S. this summer, has announced that Peacock will be its “Official Home” starting in the inaugural season.
This multi-year agreement marks a key element of an expanded partnership with NBCUniversal, which will also involve other USL leagues and properties utilizing NBC Sports Next’s SportsEngine Play streaming service and cutting-edge digital products.
Beginning with the USL Super League’s opening weekend on August 17-18, all 115 regular season and playoff matches will be available for streaming on Peacock for fans in the United States.
Since 2020, Peacock has been a key destination for soccer fans in the United States, offering critically acclaimed coverage of the Premier League, Telemundo’s record-breaking Spanish-language broadcasts of the FIFA World Cup, and Olympic soccer events. The USL Super League joins Peacock’s growing portfolio of women’s sports, which also features the Olympics, FIFA Women’s World Cup, Big Ten basketball, championship golf, and more.
“We are excited to collaborate with NBCUniversal and Peacock to deliver a premier viewing experience for fans of the USL Super League nationwide,” said Amanda Vandervort, President of the USL Super League.
“NBC Sports and Peacock have set a high standard for soccer coverage in the United States, and their commitment to the USL Super League underscores the significance of our mission,” said Vandervort. “This partnership validates the Super League’s pivotal role in advancing women’s soccer, providing increased opportunities for players, coaches, and fans alike. Our matches will be conveniently accessible in one location for fans, and we eagerly anticipate working with Peacock to establish the Super League as a global leader both on and off the field. Additionally, through our partnership with NBC Sports Next’s SportsEngine Play, we aim to connect with millions of young athletes and their families.”
The USL Super League is the latest addition to professional women’s soccer in the United States, officially sanctioned by U.S. Soccer for Division One competition. Its inaugural season showcases eight clubs: Brooklyn FC, Carolina Ascent FC, Dallas Trinity FC, DC Power FC, Fort Lauderdale United FC, Lexington SC, Spokane Zephyr FC, and Tampa Bay Sun FC.
The Fall Schedule, unveiled recently, includes each club playing 14 matches from August through December, followed by a winter break.
“We’re extremely proud to be expanding our relationship with the USL, which focuses not only on reaching their passionate and supportive fans but also creating more access to great soccer competition for new audiences who love to play and watch the game, especially young people and their families,” said Will McIntosh, President, NBC Sports Next. “The USL will be a great complement to an already robust live sports offering on Peacock and SportsEngine Play, not to mention the training and development content included as part of a SportsEngine Play subscription.”
Combined, NBCUniversal platforms will stream more than 1,000 matches live or on-demand each year across the USL Super League, USL League Two, and USL W League.
