Slingerlands’ Alyssa Kogelmann Awarded the Patricia Louise Masotto and Brenda Driscoll Scholarship
New York Youth Soccer News: Alyssa Kogelmann Receives an Eastern New York Scholarship
The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) congratulates Alyssa Kogelmann, who is receiving a Patricia Louise Masotto and Brenda Driscoll Scholarship which is based on academic and athletic success as well as community service. The scholarship’s namesakes were best friends and top women’s soccer players from Massapequa, Long Island. Eastern New York set up a scholarship in their name after they were killed by a drunk driver in 1985.
At Guilderland High School, Alyssa played four years for the varsity girls soccer team, receiving the Coaches Award in 2015 and was inducted into the National Honor Society. She volunteered as a chairperson for the Publicity, Facebook, Prom and Ball committees. Alyssa received High Honors (95 average and above) from the 6th through the 12th Grade.
Playing in defense and midfield for the Alleycats Blackcats of the Capital District Youth Soccer League (CDYSL), her team were Eastern New York Premier League (ENYPL) champions in 2012 and Northeast Regional Premier League champions in 2013.
Eastern New York wishes Alyssa the best as she studies and plays soccer at Connecticut College this fall.
