To Accommodate More Teams, the Arch Capital Group Cup Splits Into Platinum and Gold Competitions
New York Youth Soccer News: The Arch Capital Group Cup is splitting into two divisions so that every travel team in Eastern New York has a chance to win a cup competition
The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) strongly believes that every travel team from the East End of Long Island to the Canadian border should have a chance to win a cup competition so the Arch Capital Group Cup has now been broken up into two skill divisions.
The State Open Cup, for New York’s best teams in the Under-12 to Under-19 age groups, will continue to accept teams from the Premier Leagues. The Arch Capital Group Cup is instead for travel teams with the Platinum Division being for the best travel teams and the Gold Division for the lower level travel teams:
• In leagues that have five or more skill divisions, the first and second tier teams will play in the Platinum Division and the third tier and lower squads will be placed in the Gold Division unless requested otherwise.
• In leagues that have 2-4 skill divisions, the first tier teams will play in the Platinum Division and the second tier and lower squads will be placed in the Gold Division unless requested otherwise.
• In leagues that have 1 skill division, the top half of teams will play in the Platinum Division and the bottom half will be placed in the Gold Division unless requested otherwise.
“Additionally, we have reduced the team entry fee to $175 for both Platinum and Gold Divisions while keeping such popular items as geographic play to reduce travel distances and group play of up to three games,” explained State Cup Chairperson Steve Padaetz.
Registration is now open for the Under-10 to Under-12 age groups, who have group play during the Fall Season. As registration closes on August 24, don’t delay, register your team today by clicking on this link:

Registration will start in late August and conclude on February 12, 2017 for squads who kick off the State Cup in the Spring Season. Those eligible teams are for the State Open Cup from Under-12 to Under-19 and Arch Capital Group Cup, both Platinum and Gold, from Under-13 to Under-17.
It might seem like a long way off now but both the State Open Cup and the Arch Capital Group Cup finals as well as the Eastern New York Premier League finals will be played at selected venues throughout New York State during Championship Month in June 2017. Approximately 50 title games will be played that month.
