FC Expat Huntington Beach Joins UPSL
The United Premier Soccer League announced its newest member to the Western Conference, FC Expat Huntington Beach. The newly formed club, which is a Huntington Beach community based soccer team, will participate in the Western Conference of the UPSL.
The team will be led by Veteran Coach Adel Yusuf Aljuboori who was the Iraq national head coach & assistant coach during the 80s & 90s. Aljuboori also coached Iraq U20 in World Cup 1989 in Saudi Arabia, and coached Iraq Olympic team 1980 in Moscow Russia and many middle eastern countries premier clubs and been a coach since 1977. Prior to his coaching tenures Aljuboori was a professional soccer player for club and national teams levels.
FC Expat Huntington Beach Founder Salam Nassir, and assistant coach Dror Zilpa said, “We are very excited to become a member of the UPSL. We know the UPSL has become a tough league with many quality teams, but we are up for the challenge as we have put together a committed team both on and off the field. This is going to be a positive season and we could not be more excited about our club and what it can be for our community here in Huntington Beach.”
United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, “We are very excited to announce FC Expat as a new team member of the UPSL. Huntington Beach is a big soccer market in So Cal and thus we expect a competitive side out of the Expats as they bring to the table a very good coaching staff and ownership group to lead the charge. We look forward to a great season with FC Expats.
The UPSL now consists of three conferences spanning across Southern and Central California; which include Los Angeles County, Orange County, Ventura County, Santa Clarita Valley, Kern County and the Inland Empire.
