AC Milan and adidas Debut New Home and Third Kits in Final Two Serie A Matches
Hot New Soccer Locker Review: AC Milan and adidas new home and third kits – worn first during the final two matches of the 2013/14 Serie A season. A new look for the Italian giant? The red and black are revamped, slightly.
Legendary Italian club AC Milan and adidas will debut the club’s new home and third kits in the final two matches of the 2013/14 Serie A season. In a break with tradition, the 115-year-old club (founded in 1899) will dispense with their crest on the jersey, replacing it with the St. George’s Cross – the crest will remain on the shorts. The new home kit will also introduce two shades of red on the jersey, while the third kit will boast the traditional yellow and green of Brazil, in honor of the 2014 FIFA World Cup host country.
“We’re particularly proud to present these new kits which allow us to bring together technology and tradition” said Jean Michel Granier, head of adidas in Southern Europe. “The first jersey represents a new design and color while the third jersey gives us a perfect link with the World Cup in Brazil, where we have been official sponsors and ball supplier since 1970.”
One of the most successful clubs in the world, with 18 officially recognized UEFA and FIFA championships, i Rossoneri will wear their new third kit when they take on Atalanta on Sunday, May 11, in their next-to-last match of the season. AC Milan will then sport their new home kit when they host Sassuolo on Sunday, May 18.
