The NASL Announces Spanish Content Partnership with AS
The NASL has partnered with AS, which will see the Spain-based publication’s U.S. editorial team produce content for the league in Spanish. AS’ English version of the popular Spanish soccer publication launched in January as it expands its regions of coverage that now includes the U.S., Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Spain.
Soccer News: The North American Soccer League (NASL) has teamed up with AS on a digital partnership that will see the renowned Spanish publication’s U.S. editorial team produce Spanish-language content for the league. Additionally, the NASL will be featured on AS’ English version of the popular Spanish soccer publication, giving fans regular access to premium league content all year long.
“We’re very proud to announce our new partnership with AS,” said NASL Commissioner Bill Peterson. “This is a very exciting venture that will significantly improve our ability to bring NASL action and stories to our Spanish-speaking supporters around the world. Collaborating with AS will also ensure that the latest and most relevant global soccer news world will reach our fans on a daily basis.”
La Cancha de AS will be the league’s Spanish-language content hub on the NASL website, and it will feature original content from AS’ team of U.S. writers. Player profiles, human interest stories, match previews and recaps, and videos will be available to NASL fans on a weekly basis – both on the NASL website and AS.
“Ever since AS USA’s launch in January, our welcome in the States has been truly felt,” said Alfredo Relaño, director of AS. “We are now thrilled to provide NASL content to our audience in a country where soccer grows at, perhaps, a higher rate than anywhere else. Through this partnership, we will strive to provide fans of all of the NASL clubs premium content in Spanish.”
The NASL already has its own news section on AS’ U.S. website, which was officially launched by the Spain-based media company in January. In addition to the stories posted on the NASL website, news from around the league will be featured on AS as well on Twitter at @US_diarioas and @LaCanchaNASL.
AS is one of Spain’s largest daily sports publications, focusing primarily on soccer. The company, which is owned by PRISA, has outposts in the U.S., Mexico, Chile, and Colombia, in addition to its home base of Spain.
