Colombia’s Atlético Nacional Debut also in 2020 Gordon Jago Super Group
The Dallas Cup, the oldest and one of the most prestigious international youth soccer tournaments in the United States, has announced that Colombia’s Atlético Nacional and Canada’s Montreal Impact FC will compete in the Gordon Jago Super Group at Dallas Cup XLI this April.
Hailing from the city of Medellín, Colombia’s Atlético Nacional will make their Dallas Cup debut this April at Dallas Cup XLI. El Verde plays in the top Colombian soccer league system and is considered one of the strongest clubs in South America, winning seven league titles in the past decade.
Atlético Nacional is the first Colombian side to compete in the Super Group since 2000, and is just the ninth participant from Colombia in the tournament’s four-decade existence.
Fellow Dallas Cup newcomer Montreal Impact FC also looks to make a strong tournament debut in the 2020 Gordon Jago Super Group.
Montreal hopes to become the first Canadian side to win the Super Group title and just the second MLS academy side to accomplish the feat (FC Dallas, 2017).
The Impact currently sits in second place of their USSDA division, scoring a division, leading 11 goals through three games played.
Atlético Nacional and Montreal Impact FC join Derby County FC, Eintracht Frankfurt, Atlético Paranaense, Vasco da Gama, Tigres, and CF Monterrey in the elite bracket. Dallas Cup XLI will be played April 5-12. K
