Twin Midfielders Sign for Miami FC’s Inaugural Season
Miami FC sign twin midfielders for its inaugural season in the NASL that kicks off this spring. The Rezende brothers will make their NASL debut after a long career together in college and abroad in Spain and Italy.
Soccer News: Miami FC has recently inked two midfielders, Calvin and Conner Rezende. The twins have consistently delivered top performances throughout their collegiate careers and will be making their NASL debut with Miami FC for its inaugural season this spring.
“Calvin and Conner are extremely skilled and talented at such an early stage of their career,” Alessandro Nesta, Miami FC head coach, said. “They’ll be worth keeping an eye on as we move into our first season. I’m looking forward to seeing this pair of young talent develop and contribute to our team alongside our veteran midfielders, Palacios and Matuzalem.”
Both Conner and Calvin have spent the majority of their collegiate careers alongside one another in the midfield. Starting with their first soccer stint at the University of Virginia in 2011, the twins have climbed the ranks together. In pursuit of moving forward with their professional careers Conner and Calvin took some time in Europe to train with Cadiz FC in Spain and Crotone FC in Italy where they were able to develop and refine their skills.
Upon coming back to the states, the midfielders made the move to St. Francis University where Conner received several recognitions including the second in assists and third for goals scored in the Northeastern Conference. Shortly after, the twins took a shot with the PDL’s Michigan Bucks where Calvin received his fair share of recognitions leading the team in assists and a nomination for the PDL’s MVP.
Player announcements will continue to be released as the Miami FC gears up for the 2016 NASL season.
