Red Devils To Compete at Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXVIII
Manchester United will return to Dr Pepper Dallas Cup this spring as the club makes its eighth overall appearance at the annual tournament. Dallas Cup is the oldest and most prestigious international youth soccer tournament in the United States that welcomes top international academies for its Gordon Jago Super Group.

Youth Soccer News: Dr Pepper Dallas Cup is a highly competitive youth soccer tournament known for attracting great international competition. Today, the Dallas Cup shared some good news — English Premier League giant Manchester United is coming to the USA to compete in the elite tournament’s 2017 Gordon Jago Super Group this April.
As youth soccer in America heats up, Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXVIII will mark the fourth occasion that the Red Devils compete in the Gordon Jago Super Group, and the club’s eighth Dallas Cup appearance overall.
Who will win this esteemed bracket? Manchester United are definitely looking to become the third English club — in the last five years — to claim the victory.
What is Manchester United’s record at Dallas Cup?
The Red Devils look to improve upon the last time they competed in the elite bracket in 2013, a team that featured Belgian international Adnan Januzaj.
In 2012, the club reached the championship game, but lost to Brazil’s Coritiba, who will also be traveling to Dallas this April. Manchester United’s 2012 squad featured current first team player, Jesse Lingard.
In a recent ranking of Premier League academies by Britain’s Daily Mirror, Manchester United sits atop with the club ranked first in Premier League minutes played by academy players.
The Manchester United Academy also ranks first in total players currently playing in the Premier League – 29 players who currently play at the top level.
Manchester United joins a strong Gordon Jago Super Group that includes 2016’s champions Everton, Brazilian powers Coritiba and Fluminense, prominent Israeli club Maccabi Haifa, and 2016 US Soccer Development Academy champions FC Dallas. Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXVIII will be held from April 9 through April 16, 2017.
