Emma Stransky Called Up for U-14 Girls’ National Team Camp
It is always wonderful when real talent hits the field and is recognized, cultivated and developed. This is the mission of great coaches. At the recent Girls National Team Camp, players were scouted and rewarded for their hard work.
Youth Soccer News: The U.S. U15 Girls’ National Team and the U.S U14 Girls’ National Team, which included Internationals SC standout Emma Stransky, held concurrent training camps from Sept. 10-17 at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, Calif.
“Emma represents yet another Internationals SC member to represent the club at the national team level,” Internationals SC Founder, President, and Director of Coaching Zdravko Popovic. “We are so happy that she earned the opportunity to compete with the country’s top players through her hard work and determination. All of us are looking forward to Emma’s promising future at the next level. She certainly has the ability to impact the game as a quality player.”
U.S. U-15 GNT head coach Tracey Kevins called up 24 players, all born in 2003, for what will be her first camp at the helm of this age group.
“I feel very honored,” Stransky added. “I know many players would love this opportunity. Being a part of the U.S Soccer culture and having the chance to wear the crest is a once in a lifetime opportunity that can be taken away so easily. But with respect, patience, grit, teamwork, strength, and passion, I know that I’ll be able to continue to pursue my dreams. Being a part of U.S Soccer is an honor and not a right, you have to take advantage of what you learn at these types of camps, or else you’re wasting your time and the coaches’ time. I can’t wait for what the future holds and will work even harder to accomplish my dreams.”
U.S. U-14 GNT head coach April Kater called up 24 players, all born in 2004. This cycle for the U.S. U-14 GNT would generally begin in early 2018, but this camp gives next year’s U-14s a head start. For all but the few players who have been called into U-15 GNT training camps, this will be the first experience in a National Team training camp environment.
“I really want to thank my coaches and teammates, for always pushing me to the limits and showing me the best player I can be,” Stransky concluded. “The coaching staff here is absolutely amazing as well, they are kind and passionate about what we love and respect the fact that we have so much to learn. My teammates are also a good example of why I am here today. They always push everyone past the breaking point and are so supportive when one of us gets an opportunity like this. The culture of ISC is probably one of the best around. I would also like to than my family, my parents and brother Ryan, for their outstanding support at all the games. I will always remember them cheering from the sidelines, encouraging me every second of the game. These past six years at the club have been the best six years of my life.”
