NPSL Soccer News: Albion SC Pros will begin their search for new talent as the spring kickoff of the 2017 National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) season approaches.
Head coach Ziggy Korytoski will identify the top local talent at the upcoming tryouts — and select those players who will improve the already highly successful Albion Pros squad.
The Albion Pros come off an undefeated inaugural season in the NPSL, while also beating La Galaxy II and Xolox Reserves.
“This year we expect to strengthen our player pool,” says Ziggy Korytoski, Albion PROS, Head Coach. “We have committed to only 4 players that will return from last year as of this moment, so the roster is wide open.”
Korytoski does admit there are a few other player who he is in conversation with but he looks forward to seeing who comes out for the Tryouts. “Overall, we are excited to see the new talent that comes out after our success from last year and the qualification for the US Open Cup,” says Korytoski. “I anticipate a team that is head and shoulders above the exciting product that we put out last year!
“Last year we saw an incredible turnout of players from all over San Diego and Southern California with some very good talent, we look forward to the same response and hope to see players really looking to launch their career and get into Professional Soccer,” said Korytoski. As the club continues to reach new heights, the NPSL side is looking for players prepared to put their skills to test against top clubs in the United States.
This is going to be a very exciting soccer season in the Southern California area. Known as a hotbed of elite youth soccer talent, America’s 8th largest city is ripe for amateur and professional soccer. Soccer fans even travel across the border to watch soccer matches.
“Albion Pros qualified for the US Open Cup and is looking for players that can compete at at a USL and MLS level,” says Noah Gins, CEO/Executive Director.
The local San Diego club first season was so successful that they qualified for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and will be preparing to take on USL and MLS level squads — and their fans will be waiting to cheer.
